Zheduo Pass (4,298 m) — the "First Gate of Kham" and your first climb above 4,000 m. Switchbacks to a prayer-flag summit, then a gentler roll onto the plateau to Xinduqiao, "photographer’s paradise." Slow and steady is everything up here.
